Impact of Workplace Fun on Performance of the Employees

Abstract

This research is conducted to assess the Impact of Workplace Fun in public and private organizations of Karachi & then find the impact of fun at workplace on the performance of the employees. Data is collected through structured questionnaire. Sample size of 200 (100 from public organization and 100 from private organization) was selected on stratified method of probability sampling technique. Public and private oil sector of Karachi district were selected for this study.  The aspects measured were: Fun at work and employee creative performance. Data was analyzed through SPSS 16.0 and the statistical techniques used to analyze the data include correlation and non-parametric tests i.e. independent samples t-test and two-way ANOVA. Findings of research showed that fun at workplace was little more in private sector organization than public sector organization. It was observed that males are provided more fun activities as compare to females. It was also observed that the impact of age and qualification was different for public and private organizations on fun activities. And the important finding of this study showed that fun at workplace increases employee creative performance. This study has implication for the management of both categories of the organization.
