Abstract

The aim of this paper was to find out impact of various challenges faced by project teams on the project success in the context of offshore IT projects. Deductive approach was adopted whereby hypotheses were first formulated after thorough study of the relevant literature. A sample of 152 IT project team members was approached to get their responses. Primary quantitative data were collected which were treated by adopting relevant statistical tools with the help of SPSS, version 23. The findings of this paper have discovered that out of four challenges selected for investigation, ‘language related challenges’ have no inverse relationship with project success whereas remaining three challenges such as time related challenges, cost related challenges, and quality related challenges have inverse relationship with project success. The results of this study are considered quite useful for the Offshore IT project managers. In light of the findings of this study, the managers may focus on reducing time, cost & quality related challenges for making projects a real success. The study can be equally useful for managers of other industries and the academia, as well.
