Abstract

Leadership style has been researched extensively for a long period of time. Several factors related to employees and organizations considered to investigate the relationship and impact of leadership style on employee and organizational development. Literature reflects significant relations between leadership styles and behavior factors of employee that further lead towards better organizational performance. Despite of intense literature on leadership yet there is a thin gap is identified to empirically examine the effect of leadership style on employee wellbeing in the context of Pakistan. This study aims to understand the transformational leadership style in the perspective of employee wellbeing; quality of work life, leadership development, work stress and organizational commitment. A questionnaire of established constructs is administered to the sample of 209 lower and middle level administrative employees and faculty members. The results report the significant predictors of transformational leadership are quality of work life, leadership development and organizational commitment.
